Trump’s nominee Rex Tillerson contemplates big challenge for China’s Xi

President -elect Trump is set to advance American interests in US foreign policy  and with Rex Tillerson as nominee  for Secretary of State the incoming US administration has spelled out tough stance  against China's over bearing assertion of One-China policy  which includes Chinese sovereignty over Taiwan and suzerainty over South China Sea.This will also result in cutting down the economic status so far acquired by China.
Rex does not contemplate any  armed confrontation but will certainly deny China's access to artificial islands in the strategic waterway where Chinese have build large runways  and have deployed warships  with anti-aircraft guns and missile defence systems flouting international norms.
On the other hand ,Trump's team consisting of Tillerson is also looking to counter China's rise in East Asia by deploying military assets including attack submarines, missile defence systems in Japan and Australia. While also Missile defence systems is being deployed in South Korea to counter North Korea's threat.

Moreover Trump has proposed to build a massive navy fleet of 355 -ships  to meet threats from resurgent Russia  and China  that would entail an additional $5 billion to $5.5billion in annual spending in the Navy's 30-year projection.

Trump also intends to term China as a currency manipulator  and will impose punitive tariffs on Chinese goods being dumped in US market. This will pose a major challenge for President Xi Jinping who is trying to consolidate power at a Congress of the ruling Communist party
