Modi's strategic ties with 'fake baba' Ram Rahim Gurmeet dents India's image

The entire world is watching how a  controversial spiritual leader Ram Rahim Gurmeet Singh after being convicted of raping two of his followers  has paralysed the three major states (Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab ) and India's national capital Delhi due to his closeness with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's right hand man BJP President Amit Shah.
Ram Rahim Gurmeet Singh has strategic ties with BJP when BJP president Amit Shah asked for Dera Sacha Sauda chief's support for winning the Haryana Assembly elections. Basically Modi wishes to create history by hoisting BJP's flag in every state by wining elections and BJP has never been to power in Haryana since 1966 when the state was formed .BJP came to power in Haryana with the assistance of Dera Sacha Sauda chief's support as he told his  million followers to vote for BJP, who  now went on rampage minutes after a CBI court in Panchkula convicted him of raping two women between 19991 and 2001.
Whenever there is a biased leadership at the centre , Judiciary plays its role fully  and this time, the Punjab and Haryana High Court pulled up both the Narendra Modi government at the centre and the Manohar Lal Khattar government in the state.  The Prime Minister is of the nation and not the BJP, the Punjab and Haryana high court remarked  as riots engulfed two states after controversial “godman” Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted of rape.

The number of people killed in clashes in northern India rose to 36 Saturday with 250 injured including police personnel's, one day after a controversial spiritual leader was found guilty of raping two of his followers.
But there are many questions that need to be answered both by the Centre and the State:
  • Despite the Section 144 in place, what were the instructions given to the police personnel's by the Manohar Lal government when Dera followers were congregating?

  • The court even held Dera responsible for the loss of property in the violence
  • The court accused the Centre and Haryana government for administrative lapses after at least 31 people were killed and property worth millions of rupees were damaged in riots that broke out on Friday .
  • The court termed the Centre’s response to the violence “only a knee-jerk reaction”.
  • "Why do you (the Centre) treat the region as colonies?” asked a full bench of acting chief justice SS Saron and justices Surya Kant and Avneesh Jhingan.
  • When additional solicitor general Satya Pal Jain argued that such violence had happened in states ruled by other parties, the court reminded the Prime Minister that “National integrity is above parties. Are we one nation or a party nation?”
Moreover many countries like Canada, U.S. Britain, Indonesia have issued safety advisory for their citizens travelling to India, saying possibility of further serious violence may be expected after the conviction of self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case. Now , PM Modi should clarify that why during his tenure India's  image is being dented.
