China's growing economic and strategic domination


China is progressing towards economic consolidation and strategic domination in the Indian Ocean from Thailand  to  the entire Asia and to Europe. The People's Liberation Army is attaining global military capabilities that will ultimately fulfil Chinese leadership ambition of capturing world power status and mitigating India vis-a -vis its interests in Kashmir (entire Kashmir including PoK) .
 
The Western world needs to understand the policy of the Islamic World to dominate the entire world and China is apparently riding on their ambitions to fulfil its desire to become a world power setting aside the European domination.
 
China started on this global approach when it created 'One-China policy' by including the island of Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa as a part and parcel of the mainland China. Then On June 30, 1997, Hong Kong became reunited with China, but Hong Kong retained unique rights and privileges as a special administrative region . From 2001, China made diplomatic and economic engagements with numerous countries to enhance its influence.
 
 
Xi Jinping who is  the current General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, was given the title of “core” leader putting him at par with past strongmen like Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.
 
 
Acknowledging that Taliban is the legitimate force in Afghanistan, China has now entered Afghanistan by declaring its support for an "Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process" to end the decades-old conflict in the country. The two leaders agreed to revive the Quadrilateral Coordination Group comprising the U.S., China, Pakistan and Afghanistan that is tasked with reaching a peace deal with the Taliban.
 
Even Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reached Kabul to meet President Ashraf Ghani and praised Afghanistan’s efforts for peace and gave his assurance of China’s cooperation in the “Kabul Process”, and of the country’s "comprehensive support for an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process".


Chinese President Xi Jinping's flagship program of One  Belt one Road Initiative is "a project of the century" involves 6 corridors China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor (CMREC); New Eurasian Land Bridge (NELB); China-Central and West Asia Economic Corridor (CCWAEC); China-Indo-China Peninsula Economic Corridor (CICPEC); China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC); and Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor (BCIMEC) focusing on the Asian, European  and African countries.


China is in the process of expanding its naval presence throughout the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) by building maritime civilian infrastructure in friendly states in the region, a strategy dubbed the “String of Pearls” thus encircling India.

OBOR is a collection of the land -based Silk Road economic belt and the Maritime Silk Road with primary points at Urumqi, Dostyk,Astana, Gomel,Brest and the Polish cities of Malaszewicze and Lodz which would be hubs for logistics and transshipment to other countries of Europe.

Malacca Strait : China having close ties with Malaysia ( two oil and gas pipelines),gas pipeline connecting Kyaukpyu port (having Chinese presence) to Kunming. Beijing has  been concerned about the security of its oil and gas imports from the Middle East and Africa  through the Indian Ocean and the Strait of Malacca.

Coco Islands: China has developed intelligence systems and other naval facilities
Bangladesh:China has developed the port of Chittagong which again gives it a station to be used in the heart of the Bay of Bengal.

The Chinese in Hambantota in Sri Lanka: Beijing got a 99-year-lease for running the Hambantota port

Gwadar Port in Pakistan will act as a Chinese naval base in the Arabian Sea with access to Mid-East and Mediterranean Sea in Europe.

China opened its first overseas military base in Djibouti on August 1 on the same day when Chinese military People's Liberation Army marks 90th anniversary. Djibouti is a tiny  nation sandwiched between Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia. It is at the southern entrance to the Red Sea on the route to the Suez Canal.


China's successful diplomacy is reflected in trade relations through One Belt One Road approach and adopting a foreign policy approach aligned with the economic and security interests of the region.
The changing scenario in the relations between U.S. and EU after Donald Trump retreating from the international affairs  and further divisions looming in England  will benefit china’s position in the world stage.
