Hong Kong crisis: Protests in the offing as China announces security laws banning subversion and separatism

Hong Kong is gearing up for mass protests as China announced to impose the new national security legislation on Hong Kong, a blow to the territory’s autonomy after Beijing witnessed massive violent pro-democracy protests last year that plunged the city into its deepest turmoil since it returned to Beijing rule in 1997 and challenged Xi Jinping's leadership.

Activists say the law signals the end of autonomy and have called for demonstrations as the controversial law ban "treason, secession (breaking away from the country), sedition and subversion (- undermining the power or authority of the central government)" .

People will be punished for criticising Beijing,  The law legalizes using violence or intimidation against people, terming a criminal act if foreign forces interfere in Hong Kong

A draft decision on establishing and improving the legal system and enforcement mechanisms for the HKSAR to safeguard national security was submitted to the third session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) for deliberation on Friday.Deputies to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) from the HKSAR voiced their support to the national security legislation for HKSAR.

CCP can force its rule on Hong Kong
It bypases HK's legislative Council's and can be directly imposed as soon as the Chief Ececutive publishes it in the Gazette.

Annexure 3 of the Basic Law becomes the master Key to unlock all Chinese laws:Chinese laws on defence and external relations, including crimes of inciting subversion, slander and disturbing peace can be enforced on Hong Kong immediately.
Article 23 becomes a mere smokescreen
Once this "constitutional loophole" is filled, Hong Kong is susceptible to legislation of all sham laws in the name of National Security even if it can fend off Article 23 of the Basic law.

Beijing’s lawmakers will review a resolution to set up and improve legal and enforcement mechanisms for national security in Hong Kong, with consideration to “new circumstances and needs,” a spokesman for the legislature said at a briefing on Thursday, without elaborating.

The people of Hong Kong took to twitter and asked US  and international community for help terming as the betrayal ending the Hong Kong , freedoms,  One country, two systems.

China could essentially place the draft law into Annex III of the Basic Law, which covers national laws that must be implemented in Hong Kong - either by legislation, or decree. It is expected that the law will be implemented by the end of June.

The situation now is worse than the Anti Extradition Bill last year. #China want to completely control Hong Kong. There’s never one country two systems. #CCP_is_terrorist #nationalsecuritylaw #HongKong #SOSHK

'It's the saddest day in Hong Kong's history' said Hong Kong lawmaker Tanya Chan. 'It confirms One Country, One System'
