Trump's antagonistic strategy towards Iran

The Trump administration's incomprehensible MIddle East strategy will unleash more conflicts and create shia-Sunni divide. With the release of first national Security Strategy (NSS), Donald Trump emerges as the first U.S. president to firmly and squarely accept the full versions of the Israeli-Saudi-Emirati for the security in the region.

Specifying its strategy for maintaining its status and apprently refering to Iran's power in the Middle East ,the Trump administration unveiled that US will "ensure that regions of the world are not dominated by any one power" and insisted that “Diplomacy is indispensable.”

But the actions by Trump and Washington's U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley do not indicate adopting diplomacy to resolve the tension rather accused Iran of funneling missiles to Houthi rebels in Yemen, who then used those missiles to target Saudi Arabia.

Standing in front of a display of recovered missile debris, she argued that Iran was "fanning the flames" of regional conflict and added that the country's behavior in the Middle East was "getting worse."

US and its allies such as Israel, Saudi Arabia and UAE have deliberately raised the Iran issue abruptly to distract the attention of Muslims and other countries from Jerusalem to show a scary picture of Tehran allegedly arming Yemeni rebels with Missiles that are targeting Saudi.

The crux of the Saudi-US strategy is that Saudi Arabia is vying to become a regional power and Israel, whose aim was to recognise Jerusalem as its Capital, sees Iran as its adversary and are now joining hands with Trump to nullify Iran nuclear accord and push Tehran back to the sanctions regime to bar it from producing nuclear weapons.

ALthough the communication channels with Iran existed within the White House to diffuse the situation but Trump preferred to go by Israel's version due to the strong Jewish lobby in Washington which US President is in dire need due to its lowest ever domestic rating.

Trump even provided support to its regional ally Israel on the settlement construction on occupied Palestinian territories which are against international law, failing to pressurize Israel to engage in a real peace process .

It is pertinent to mention that Trump administration's Middle East policy has been derived from the analysis of regional players and their existing ideological fault lines.

Following recent missile attacks on Saudi Arabia from Yemen, which Mohammed bin Salman has said the acts of aggression amounts to declaration of war by Tehran.

But this entire episode played by Saudi and US is fueling conflict as also in the past, Shiite Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia have backed rival proxies in power struggles in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.
