footing has now set himself for a much tougher task of bringing peace in the Mid East by even involving Saudi Arabia in the process.
Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visited India and met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed expansion of bilateral
trade ties after the lifting of sanctions.Praising India's friendship
in difficult times,Zarif said “Iran considered India its "strategic
partner" and India has been a friend of Iran in difficult times, and we
don’t forget that."
Meanwhile,Modi "conveyed India's commitment to work
with Iran for development of the Chabahar Port that would have far
reaching benefit, not only for the people of India and Iran, but also
for Afghanistan and the entire Central Asia region."
Zarif that " India should invest in Iranian
infrastructure particularly, railway construction, while Iran would look
at oil and gas investments in India as well.
Asking the regional countries to fight
ISIS ,Zarif said "We have a new threat in Afghanistan and that is
infiltration of ISIS there. Everybody has to take note of it. It is a
very alarming threat and we need to work together. There is need for all
of US, Iran, India and Pakistan and all of us to work together and Iran
can play good role in bringing these countries together."
US President Barack Obama, known for his path breaking solutions in Cuba,Iran Nuclear deal and Osama raid etc) has now embarked on paradigm shift in Iranian relations and involved the Islamic Republic of Iran in setting the Mid-East in order by eliminating the ISIS threat.
Iran's main trust is first to bring peace in the Mid East. With this end in view Zarif undertook a tour of such countries where element of conflict can arise .
The first country visited by him was Lebanon where presidential election is to be held shortly. Zarif made it amply clear that Iran respects Lebanon's sovereignty and that no one should interfere in Lebanon's internal issues, even offering a helping hand to bring a trustful environment in this election.
His tour included Syria,Pakistan and India (on the eve of independence day) whereafter he has proceeded to Russia to discuss bilateral including trade relations, peace efforts in Syria, Iranian nuclear deal and global issues.
Zarif’s visit comes following recent reports that Russia hosted Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran's elite military Quds Force.
The main mission is obviously to minimize disagreement so that a coordinated approach my be developed by these countries mainly threatened by ISIS or Da'esh .
Favouring a regional dialogue forum in the region to encourage more extensive interactions between the Muslim countries affected
by this menance,Zarif said ," Regional dialogue must include respect
for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of
all countries; non-breaching of borders; non-interference in the
internal affairs of other countries; peaceful settlement of disputes by
talking to every stakeholder ,prohibition of threats or use of force;
and promotion of prosperity and stability in the region.”
He even offered Saudi Arabia for a one-to one talks to bring peace in teh Middle East.Zarif said," I have a special message for Brother Saudi Arabia to sit with us and cooperate for the Mid east peace.".
" Our Saudi brothers need to realize the realities of the Middle East as they are."
Further adding that as a part of his new foreign policy he recently concluded regional tour to Kuwait,Qatar and Iraq immediately after the historical nuke deal .
Seeking to resolve Syrian and Yemen crisis Intense diplomacy is being conducted by Iran as Iranian foreign minister travelled Middle Eastern and South Asian capitals to promote a new peace plan .
Iran will also embark upon negotiations in September with theh six gulf countries for which it has already drawn 4 point peace plan separately for Syria and Yemen to deal effectively with ISIS .
ISIS believes in establishing a caliphate, an
Islamic state, and not only is it gaining ground in the Middle East and
other parts of Africa but also staging terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia
through sleeper cells by recruiting worldwide through its videos.
Iran’s Zarif even dispelled doubts in the minds of US lawmakers about sanctions being re-imposed in future by Presidents after US president Barack Obama leaves office
