India-China standoff: PM Modi cannot blame Nehru-Gandhi family

Whenever Prime minister wants to implement a policy he allows his ministers and lawmakers to issue controversial statements  and create a confusion in society. The latest allegation by BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi is that  Nehru-Gandhi family and the Abdullah family are responsible for the incumbent crisis in Kashmir.BJP workers, leaders  and ministers are working on a strategy apparently dictated by PM Modi for creating an atmosphere which shows all the losses in Kashmir as well as during 1962 Indo-China war and the present plight in India-China relations were the result of mishandling  and wrong policies of the previous Congress prime ministers starting from Nehru himself.

Prime Minister who assumed power in 2014 did not focus on the strengthening of the defence arsenal  and preparedness for engaging against the crisis in Kashmir  and border areas. Inspite of being aware that Pakistan  and the terrorists were in the know that Gujarat riots happened under his chief ministership. On the other hand Prime Minister himself, ministers  and his party lawmakers were enagged in issuing excited statements against Pakistan and China without making any preparations on the defence front.

Actually Modi government is claiming credit for isolating Pakistan but the realty is  quite different as U.S. in its 2015 country report on terrorism has stated that Pakistan has failed to act substantially against terror groups including Haqqani network that the same language has been repeated in the 2016 report by U.S. President Donald Trump.Infact, Pakistan was isolated during the period of Manmohan Singh led government. Now, Modi government after becoming an ally of America is working on a similar approach to deal with China-India standoff . But first of all Modi government should make its country politically, economically and militarily strong enough to present itself as a strong force to china and other rivals in the neighbourhood.

Working on a strategy to accuse opposition of previous leaders or former prime ministers will only weaken the country as Modi 's dictatorial style of functioning wil always become a soft target for rivals and the government itself will be suffering  with misapprehensions.

The strong language being used by China and the PLA threatening India to withdraw its forces from the Doklam area should be taken seriously lest India suffers reverses in which case the blame will be entirely on PM Narendra Modi who is at the helms of affairs at present and nobody will listen to his excuse of pointing fingers to the old Congress leadership.

Kashmir unrest: Conflict between Modi and Mehbooba;Terror strikes and stone -pelters

Jammu and Kashmir has been trending for nearly a year for many reasons:
  • Crisis in Kashmir due to protests by Kashmiri people including school girls and second attacks on Indian forces by Pakistani terrorists,
  • Modi government’s failure to bring normalcy in Kashmir and to build trust with the Kashmiris,
  • not allowing the Mehbooba Mufti government to  hold a dialogue with the different sections of the people
  • General Bipin Rawat , the chief of the Army staff ,warned the stone pelters against interfering with Army's operations
Conflict between Central govt and state govt over resolving Kashmir unrest
The protests started after the killing of Burhan Wani,a Kashmiri militant  and then the situation worsened and it took a drastic turn when a video of Army tying a civilian infront of jeep went viral depicting heavy handedness of Indian security forces. The Central government has also adopted tough line to deal with protesters.  as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh declined Mehbooba Mufti ‘s suggestion for initiating a dialogue with the sections of the society including separatists saying that dialogue will .be a useless exercise when there is stone pelting  and increase in militant violence in the Valley

There is an anger among Kashmiris that has infused alienation in them . Mehbooba  has been clamoring  for help from Modi to help ease tensions in Kashmir but in vain. The latest decision of the Supreme court asking the government and the security forces to step back and hold dialogue . The union government made its stand clear  and reiterated that there will not be any talks with separatists  or those raising slogans of "accession or Azadi" in Jammu  and Kashmir and talks to restore normalcy was possible only with the legally recongnised stakeholders or political parties excluding separatists.

Pakistan has been contentiously raising the Kashmir issue at international forums and this time it was also raised in UN General Assembly session in New York .Minister in Pakistan's permanent mission to the UN Masood Anwar  raised the Kashmir issue in his statement to the UN General Assembly session of the Committee on information on April 25.

Modi government must understand the factors that led to such an unrest in Kashmir, consequences for the crisis to explode  and initiatives /steps to defuse the tensions .Adding fuel to fire was the historic low polling percentage in bypolls in Kashmir that recorded as low as 3%.
Modi government must understand the gravity of the situation  and resolve the issue lest it goes out of control.
Kashmir torn between Terror strikes V/s ISIS inspired youth
By adopting hard approach by government  more  and more youths are joining jihadist groups as there are some ISIS fighters working in Kashmir  and reports have emerged that Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Rashid Bhat in his video stated that the militancy should not aim to create a new nation of Kashmir  or "Azadi" but for the supremacy of Islam.

The terrorists from Hafiz Saeed 's Jamaat-ud Dawa ,Lashkar-e- Taiba chief Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and Jaish-e-Mohammad have joined hands to organise and execute  terror strikes on military institutions and along the LOC in Jammu and Kashmir and targeting the Indian security forces.

Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the UN has stated that US President Donald Trump is considering to mediate in resolving the Kashmir issue for defusing tensions between India  and Pakistan.
Recently, US State Department report on Human rights violation has accused “Indian forces of reaching a new low in the long history of alleged  human rights abuses  in Kashmir when they beat and then tied  a 24-year shawl weaver to the front of a jeep on April9 using him as a human shield against stone throwing crowds."

France Elections: Turning secularism to fundamentalist society to combat terrorism
