OBOR is a collection of the land -based Silk Road economic belt and the Maritime Silk Road with primary points at Urumqi, Dostyk,Astana, Gomel,Brest and the Polish cities of Malaszewicze and Lodz which would be hubs for logistics and transshipment to other countries of Europe.

China opened its first overseas military base in Djibouti on August 1 on the same day when Chinese military People's Liberation Army marks 90th anniversary. Djibouti is a tiny nation sandwiched between Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia. It is at the southern entrance to the Red Sea on the route to the Suez Canal.
