Trump needs to ensure Pakistan, Afghanistan cooperation to defeat ISIL-Khorasan terror

With the encounter of Saifullah in Lucknow  and the continuous terror attacks preceding this event from Afghanistan and Pakistan show that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant-Khorasan province has now launched its terror operations  in Wilayah Khorasan ,a historic name for a region that includes Afghanistan, Pakistan, parts of India and other surrounding countries.

The ISIL-Khorasan Province is successful in creating tensions between the government's of Afghanistan  and Pakistan  as well as between the governments of India  and Pakistan .

 

While Pakistan and Afghanistan have long been accusing each other of sheltering militants-,the Tehrik-e-Taliban factions have since joined ISIL in 2014 to form the terror group of Khorasan Province which was also joined by Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) in August 2015.The strongholds of Khorasan group includes Helmand, Farah, Nangarhar provinces. TTP commanders of Khurram and Khyber regions and Peshawar and hangu district defeated from TTP to pledged allegiance  to Abu Bakr al- Baghdadi in 2014 .From 2015 onward Many Indians have moved to Afghanistan through Bangladesh  and Nepal to join Khorsan terror group.

 

Afghanistan-Pakistan branch of ISIS is actually benefiting from the escalation of tensions between the two countries.The increasing number of terror attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan have resulted in innumerable causalities of civilians, police and soldiers.
Both the governments of Ghani and Nawaz Sharif have since handed over the list of most wanted terrorists to each other country's diplomats. The spokesperson of Pakistan's armed forces also said that general Qamar Javed Bajwa ,the chief of Pakistan army staff telephoned General John Nicholson, commander of the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan asking him to support a crackdown on the operation of terror outfits from Afghan territory.

In a scenario where ISIL jihadist groups continue to carry out terror attacks , more territory lost to the Taliban and optimum level of opium cultivation that financially support the terror attacks it becomes difficult for the Asharf Ghani government  to control the different parts of the country.

When Ghani and Nawaz Sharif are locked in a useless blame game ,Donald Trump administration should come out with a strategy in order to deal with the challenge of terrorism in the Af-Pak region as well as in Asian region  which has claimed trillion dollars by giving the legitimate political role to Taliban in the Afghanistan government  and ensuring that both Pakistan and Afghanistan cooperate on counter terrorism against ISIL-Khorasan province..
